Expand Your Comfort Zone… ‘Push the PACE’

“Skating is everything… Speed is paramount…”
We often hear statements like this from coaches, scouts and evaluators in the game today... With skating-related attributes like power, speed and quickness at a premium, today’s young player needs quality, yet affordable instruction designed to develop skating stride, efficiency, speed and confidence. This is exactly what our PACE program offers.

Not Game Speed… ‘OVER SPEED’
Simply put, Over Speed Skating is defined as skating for faster and longer intervals than the individual is accustomed to. Players are pushed to skate from the hips, with maximum effort, at uncomfortable speeds, both with and without the puck, while maintaining proper work-to-rest ratios. Drill segments typically last between 6-15 seconds, with emphasis placed on the 4 components of Over Speed Skating:

QUALITY REPETITIONS
DEEP KNEE BEND
POWERFUL EXTENSIONS
QUICK FEET

… Sprinkle in the universal hockey habit of awareness, coupled with subtle skills training that does not jeopardize the desired Over Speed effect, and now, you have a program that develops faster, more confident hockey players.

At PACE Hockey, it’s You vs. You
Our instruction style puts individuals in constant competition with themselves as opposed to other players. There are no puck battles or team play drills in our program. Our approach allows for an 8-year-old with two years of playing experience to train alongside a more experienced 14-year-old. In short, individuals push their own PACE and we guide them through the process.

Retain - Apply - Perform
The Over Speed concepts and principles taught in our PACE program are retainable, meaning program attendees can take the PACE experience with them and apply our simple, yet highly effective, proven teaching methods to their individual on-ice training regiment, whether it be privately or in-practice with their club teams.
