The goal of Valley Youth Hockey Associations’ House League program is to teach children how to be better skaters, to learn how to play the game of hockey and to have fun doing so. VYHA utilizes a core of dedicated coaches to help our players master the fundamental skills essential to be better hockey players, while learning the basics of the game. VYHA House League is the perfect recreational hockey opportunity for beginning/intermediate hockey players, but also offers a chance for more advanced players to sharpen their hockey skills in a supportive environment. Practices for the VYHA House League program begin shortly after Labor Day. House League games start by mid-October and run through the end of the winter season in Late February.
House League practices officially start the week of September 20th.
Things to note:
Director. The House League is under the direction of VYHA’s Player-Coach Committee. The Player-Coach Committee appoints a Director for each VYHA House League. The Directors are responsible for the development, organization, and supervision of on-ice hockey programs.
Coaches. House League teams are coached by volunteer parents selected by VYHA Player-Coach Committee. Each team usually has a head-coach and one or two assistants. Coaches usually coach their own child’s team. Coaches are required to attend coaching clinics as determined by USA Hockey.
We are always in need of more on-ice help. Click here to view the Coaching requirements and register as a coach for VYHA.

In the meantime, you will need to obtain a 2020-2021 USA Hockey registration number prior to registering your player. This is not a VYHA rule but one imposed by USA Hockey. Your player will not be permitted on the ice for any practices or games without this registration.
