Any VYHA player who is participating in a VYHA event must now have a neck guard on.
This includes tryouts, games, practices, and any other VYHA event.
Virginia's Blue Ridge has a thriving youth ice hockey program in the form of Valley Youth Hockey Association (VYHA). VYHA has been in existence for more than 50 years and offers youth hockey from Learnt To Play (LTP), to House League programs from Mini Mites to 18U, and travel hockey from 10U to 18UAA.
Our House League teams and Learn To Play participates practice and play locally at The Lancerlot Sports Complex in Vinton, VA. While the Junior Rail Yard Dawgs, travel team afflilate for Valley Youth Hockey Association, practice at The Lancerlot Sports Complex and participate in both the Eastern Junior Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League (EJEPL) and Carolina Hockey League (CHL).

Our LTP is for boys and girls with little or no ice hockey experience interested in learning the fundamentals of hockey. |
House League | Rage from 6U/8U - 18U. Recreational level of hockey that builds on the skaters ability to skate and learn how to play the game of hockey in a team environment. |
Jr. Dawgs Travel | Tier II level hockey for the 10U - 18U Player. Competitive team focus. |
